E KOMO MAI - (welcome)

Aloha, my name is Mark. Welcome to Discover-Oahu.com. It is my Pleasure to share my knowledge, experience and passion of this alluring island named Oahu. I strive to make your visit to Discover-Oahu.com as enriching and fullfilling as I know your next trip to the awe-inspiring island of Oahu will be . Enjoy your Journey!

Oahu (the gathering place) is the heart of Hawaii, it is the most diverse of all of the islands that make up the State of Hawaii. Oahu offers an abundance of activities and attractions. Waikiki (spouting water) is the pulse of Oahu. Waikiki is the center of all the action on Oahu. Waikiki has pristine white sand beaches, alluring sunsets, fine dining, luxury hotels and seemingly neverending night life. Within walking distance you will find the beautiful and peaceful Kapiolani park which is more than 500 acres, including Honolulu zoo and the Waikiki Aquarium. Waikiki is the place to stay and play.

My first trip to Hawaii was in 1979 and I have returned almost 40 times. The moment you step off the plane, you can feel the warm sultry air and smell the heavenly scent of the nearby Plumeria trees. I have been to all of the Hawaiian islands but I always seem to return to Waikiki. The warm air and tradewinds seem to lift all of life's burdens from your shoulders. The crystal clear waters, warm climate and extremely friendly and proud Hawaiian people make this island my favorite vacation spot.

You will find hundred of great attractions and activities in Oahu. The most awesome thing that I have done while in Oahu is swimming with the sharks with The North Shore Shark Adventure. This is a must do! Another thing that should not be missed is going to at least one luau. This is a time honored Hawaiian tradition and it is really nice to see. You will get to see hula dancers performing ancient hula (Hula Kahiko) and the more modern hula (Hula Auana).

Another thing that should not be missed while you discover-oahu is The USS Arizona Memorial. This is a part of world history that can be seen right outside of Waikiki. It is moving to see the marble memorial with the names of all of the people whose lives were lost on December 7, 1941,

Enjoy your visit to my site and click on the tabs in the table of contents and see just how many things you can do on your vacation to the Hawaiian Islands. Don't forget to visit the tab entitled Island Hopping. Here you can choose any of the Hawaiian Islands and discover what they have to offer. These Islands are all very different and offer lots of different things to see and do.

Once again thank you for visiting Discover-Oahu.com.

Hello Mark,
"I just wanted to say that I love your website. Although I am a native Hawaiian and live in Kailua, on Oahu, I still find alot of good information on your site!
My wife is constantly on your site to look at your Pearlridge mall page. She says it is easier to find a store on your site than to go to the mall and look for certain stores. I like your hiking page because I love to hike and you have some great hikes there. I even went in the shark cage on the North shore after reading about it on your site. That was way AWESOME brah! Keep up the good work!!!"

"Mark,
Thank you so much for all of your great information and for making an Itinerary for us. We had a great time. I followed your advice and booked my Luau and circle Island tour at Hawaii Activities. They were terrific. The drivers picked us up right in front of our hotel and told lots of jokes along the way. I even got to see two whales on our hike to Diamond Head. Once again thanks for making our trip to Hawaii such a wonderful memorable experience.

Thanks in advance,"
