HULA SHOWS

The Kodak Hula Shows used to be a really great way to see Hula, but I hear that after more than 60 years, the performances have ended. You can find “snippets” of Hula performances at most of the shopping areas in Waikiki. I have seen parts of shows in the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center, the Kuhio mall on the second floor, The Ala Moana Shopping Center on the center stage and at the Waikiki Shell. I think the best place to see true Hula is at a luau , especially the Polynesian Cultural Center Luau. They show each type. Almost in a historic revue. You will also find Hula performances at the Hilton Hawaiian Village at their Friday night show by the main pool. Another good place to see a Hula performance is at the Torch Lighting Ceremony at Kuhio Beach every night at sunset. Wherever you find Hula being performed, enjoy it remembering the history of this once very sacred dance.
