Oahu (the gathering place) is the heart of Hawaii, it is the most diverse of all of the islands that make up the State of Hawaii. Oahu offers an abundance of activities and attractions. Waikiki(spouting water) is the pulse of Oahu. Waikiki is the center of all the action on Oahu. Waikiki has pristine white sand beaches, alluring sunsets, fine dining, luxury hotels and seemingly neverending night life. Within walking distance you will find the beautiful and peaceful Kapiolani park which is more than 500 acres, including Honolulu zoo and the Waikiki Aquarium. Waikiki is the place to stay and play.

My first trip to Hawaii was in 1979 and I have returned almost 40 times. The moment you step off the plane, you can feel the warm sultry air and smell the heavenly scent of the nearby Plumeria trees. I have been to all of the Hawaiian islands but I always seem to return to Waikiki. The warm air and tradewinds seem to lift all of life's burdens from your shoulders. The crystal clear waters, warm climate and extremely frienly and proud Hawaiian people make this island my favorite vacation spot.

I have had many friends, family and even people I don't even know ask me: "Where are the best places to hike?", "Where are the best beaches for kids?", "Where are the biggest waves?". I have even had people ask me to make them an itinerary for their trip. Then somebody suggested that I write a travel guide. Wow, my own travel guide. Well here it is. My goal is to help give you ideas or guide you through your adventure in Oahu; from your Hawaiian lei greeting to your sad departure home. One thing I am sure of.......YOU WILL RETURN!
