They can be pricey, but if you don't mind spending money for great service and comfort, these sure are nice. I have stayed at Three of these hotels in the past and I really felt pampered by the time I left. These are great accomodations if you are celebrating a special occasion.

OAHU'S BEST FIVE STAR HOTELS

THE HALEKULANI

The Halekulani is the newest and most people say the nicest of all of the Oahu luxury hotels. The hotel was once the spot of a private beachfront estate that sits on 5 acres of prime Waikiki Beach real estate. The Halekulani offers impeccable service and world renowned fine cuisine. The large outdoor swimming pool has smal tiles at the bottom that form together to create the breathtaking image of an orchid. It is right on Waikiki beach and close to upscale shopping such as "Prada" and also close to fine restaurants. The Halekulani is a member of the leading hotels of the world, preferred hotels and resorts worldwide and Okua Hotels and resorts.

ROYAL HAWAIIAN HOTEL

Recognized around the world, the Royal Hawaiian hotel is nicknamed "The Pink Palace Of The Pacific". It was first opened on February 1st 1927 as a classy open air mediterranean style hotel for wealthy travelers to Oahu. The Royal Hawaiian Hotel was closed to the public and used for military housing in January 1942 one month after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. The Royal Hawaiian re-opened its doors to guests in 1947. The Royal is located right in the middle of Waikiki on 10 acres of prime beachfront property. The older part of the hotel and lobby still have the open air style as it did in 1927. The Royal Hawaiian still remains an icon of romance and luxury. It now boasts 528 rooms and suites, perfect views of Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head. The Royal Hawaiian has all the activities that make Waikiki such a wonderful vacation destination. If you choose not to stay at the Royal Hawaiian, it is worth a visit just to see the beautifull manicured gardens and the tranquil lobby full of flowers and shops. They also offer a free historic walking tour on Wednesdays and Fridays and 2.00pm. Meet in the lobby for the tour. A little trivia about the Royal Hawaiian is the the drink Shirley Temple was invented here. This Hotel is the second oldest of all Oahu Luxury Hotels.

THE WESTIN MOANA SURFRIDER

This Hotel in my opinion is the most beatiful hotel in Waikiki. The hotel first opened on March 11, 1901. It was the first hotel on Waikiki beach which is why she is known as "The First Lady Of Waikiki. This hotel also closed in January 1942 to house the military. It re-opened to the public in 1947. When the hotel first opened it was simply called the Moana hotel, then it became the Sheraton Moana, then The Sheraton Moana Surfrider. On June 1st 2007 The hotel was officially reborn as The Westin Moana Surfrider. In 1989 a 50 million dollar historic restoration was completed and the hotel now boasts 793 guest rooms including 46 suites. The new rooms now have hardwood floors, flat screen tvs and the Westin signature beds and mattresses. The lobby is filled with tons of memorabilia dating back to 1900. There is a free educational historic tour on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 11:00am and 5:00pm that lasts about an hour. Through the lobby on the grounds is an indian banyan tree that was originally planted as an experimentin 1904. The tree was almost 7ft tall when it was planted. The now world famous banyan stands a magnificent 75 feet high and reaches 150ft across. This is truely a sight to see. This is another hotel that if your not staying there, at least go look at it. This is the oldest and prettiest of all Oahu Luxury Hotels.

THE KAHALA HOTEL

This hotel used to be called the Kahala Mandarin Oriental Hotel. The kahala Hotel and Resort is set on 800 feet of secluded ivory sand beach just a short 10 min drive to Waikiki Beach. The Oceanfront luxury resort has 343 rooms that are often visited by celebrities and politicians because of it's secluded location. The Kahala is renowned all over the island for the sheer opulence of it's guest rooms. The hotel has five nice restaurants and a world class spa on it's grounds. The Kahala has it's own lush tropical garden and lush private lagoon that is home to The Kahala resident dolphins. The Kahala offers a program where you can swim with the dolphins. This is one of the beautiful Oahu luxury hotels.

THE TURTLE BAY HILTON

The Turtle Bay Hilton is a beautiful hotel and resort that is set on 880 ocean front acres on the north shore of Oahu. The natural unspoiled beauty is all around the hotel. It boasts five miles of pristine beaches and 12 mile of ocean trails. The Turtle Bay Hilton is located on an area of land that includes Kawwela Bay, Kuilima Cove and Turtle Bay. This is a fantastic destination if you wish to leav the hustle and bustle of Waikiki and just enjoy the natural beauty, peace and tranquility of Oahu. This is one of the most peaceful of all Oahu Luxury Hotels.

The Turtle Bay Hilton has 443 magnificent beach cottages and guest rooms, lush gardens two pools, two championship golf courses, 10 tennis courts, horseback riding, hiking and mountain bike trails, a surfing school, world-class dinning and shopping and it is only minutes away from the Polynesian Cultural Center. Waikiki is about an hours drive from the Turtle Bay Hilton, so this is another great choice for complete privacy, rest and relaxation.

Another great Oahu luxury hotel is a great hotel in the Starwood Hotel and resort chain.

W HONOLULU-DIAMOND HEAD HOTEL

The W Honolulu is a fantastic boutique style hotel located at the foot of Diamond Head in the Beautiful Kapiolani park. This hotel is in the same park as the Waikiki Aquarium and The Honolulu Zoo. It is situated away from the busy section of the main Waikiki Beach area but within walking distance. The rooms in this hotel are extremely nice. They have four classes of rooms.

The Wonderful room:
On the 3rd to 7th floor with a view of Diamond Head.

The Spectacular room:
On the 8th -10th floor with a Diamond Head and Pacific ocean view.

The Fabulous room:
