Oahu resorts seem to be numerous, but there are only four great really “true resorts” in Oahu Hawaii. Even though a lot of hotels include hotel and resort in their names, there are only four really nice “true” resorts.

To find the best prices through hundreds of hotel search engines, just check the search engine above, find your resort, enter your travel dates and you will find a great price and you can read reviews of the resort and view photos of the property and rooms.

I will list these resorts in the order that I think they rank. Although the first three rank #1 for different reasons.

The best and most exclusive of all the Oahu resorts is the Kahala (Kahala Mandarin Oriental Hotel and Resort). The Kahala is located on 800ft of secluded white sand beach and is just a few minutes drive from Waikiki in the prestigious Kahala Heights residential area overlooking Diamond Head and Koko Head. This resort is frequented by celebrities, presidents and royalty.

Some of the resorts famous visitors include:

A Saudi Arabian Prince
Ozzy Osbourne
Pierce Brosnan
John Travolta
Richard Nixon
Bette Midler
The Rolling Stones

I have seen Dolly Parton and Tom Selleck at the Kahala at different times in past years.
The rooms are stunning and all of them have fantastic views. Conde Naste Traveler states that the Kahala has “The best rooms in the U.S.A..

There are five restaurants located in the resort:

Hoku’s- Contemporary Island Cuisine

Seaside Grill- Casual dinning

Plumeria Beachhouse- Open air casual all day dinning restaurant

The Veranda- Afternoon tea and pupus, overlooking the dolphin lagoon

Tokyo-Tokyo- Japanese cuisine

One of the nicest features of this wonderful resort is the dolphin lagoon. The 26,000 square foot lagoon is home to 6 Atlantic bottle nosed dolphins named Hoku, Liho, Lono, Niele, Kainalu and Nainoa. For about $145.00 you can get in the lagoon and swim with and learn about these wonderful dolphins. The Kahala also features a world class spa.

The Hilton Hawaiian Village is the only true resort on Waikiki. It is located at the beginning of Waikiki Beach and is located on 22 lush acres of prime oceanfront property. The village concept is true to it’s name. With 22 acres of shops and restaurants and all the activities you could possibly want, you have no need to leave the resort except to catch your plane home. The resort offers five swimming pools including Waikiki’s largest super pool. On Friday night the super pool comes to life with some of Waikiki’s best performers celebrating their Hawaiian heritage and culture in a spectacular show that ends with an awesome firework show right on Waikiki beach. Also on the 22 acres are over 50 varieties of flowering plants that are native to Hawaii and plants from Fiji, Australia, Brazil, Africa, China and Tropical Asia. There are museum quality paintings and sculptures by some of Hawaii’s most prestigious artists. As for wildlife, there are more than 60 species of exotic birds, turtles and fish. There are swans, ringed neck parakeets, penguins, African red winged flamingos, sacred ibis, yellow Amazon parrot, scarlet macaw, turtles and thousands of koi. You can go to learn about the wildlife during one of the feeding sessions throughout the week. Check times at the hotel. There are streams and waterfalls located throughout the property. This is one of the most peaceful resorts I have ever visited. There are over 90 different shops located throughout the village and 20 restaurants and lounges. all of these amenities make this one of the best Oahu resorts
